Title of the PhD Project: Development of a creep-fatigue-oxidation damage model
Supervisor(s):

In collaboration with: Baker Hughes, Nuovo Pignone Tecnologie s.r.l.
Abstract of the PhD project:
In energy-generation systems where metals operate in CO2-containing environments, components are exposed to high temperatures and severe mechanical loads. Under these conditions, damage arises not only from the interaction between creep and fatigue, typical of turbine rotors and stators, but also from environmental effects. The aim of this research is to develop a creep–fatigue–oxidation interaction model within a Continuum Damage Mechanics (CDM) framework, capable of accurately predicting component life. The work combines modelling, numerical analysis, and experimental testing, with the latter used to validate the proposed constitutive models.
