Title of the PhD ProjectStudy and development of lightweight mechanics and fluid dynamics for vertex detectors of the future CERN FCC-ee collider

Abstract of the PhD project:  

The world of particle physics has been questioning for years what the future of accelerators might be: from type to technique, evaluating all possible alternatives that allow for achieving very high energies. Among the various proposals, the CERN project in Geneva stands out, the FCC, acronym of Future Circular Collider, which uses technologies previously developed for circular accelerators, improving, where possible, the detection and track reconstruction resolution. The topic of the study is situated within this project, in the vertex interaction area, and the goal is to create a solution that can follow the guidelines of minimal material and air cooling for the sensors of the new tracker. In particular, the research topic will range from the construction of a system capable of numerically and experimentally evaluating the aerodynamics of the inner vertex region to the integration mechanics within the entire tracker.
