Title of the PhD Project: Green challenges in the digital optimization of industrial products and processes

Abstract: Driven by the urgency of climate change and environmental degradation, there's a critical need for sustainable industrial practices. My PhD research aims to address this challenge by developing innovative tools and methods to minimize the environmental footprint of industrial processes and products. Lean Manufacturing principles, with their focus on waste elimination and efficiency improvement, offer a strong foundation for this endeavor. My research delves into the integration of Lean Manufacturing and Green Manufacturing. This will involve creating novel analysis tools and methodologies, whenever possible leveraging Industry 4.0 technologies.

Supervisor(s): Marco Frosolini (Associate Professor at the University of Pisa) and Professor Massimo Bertolini (Full Professor at the University of Modena and Reggio Emilia)

In collaboration with:

Consorzio Universitario in Ingegneria per la Qualità e l’Innovazione (QUINN)

Sustainable Manufacturing Systems Centre, Cranfield University

Teaching experience:

Teacher of the module “Sustainable Supply Chain: from waste reduction to digital technologies for sustainable logistics” (32 hours) within the Formation Institute for Industrial Operators (IFOA) course “Technician for logistics and production scheduling” at IFOA school in Modena.
