Title of the PhD Project: Development and characterization of highly efficient journal bearings through advanced measurements and data analysis
Supervisors: Enrico Ciulli, Michele Barsanti, Paola Forte
In collaboration with Baker Hughes
Abstract of the PhD project: Tilting Pad Journal Bearings are highly efficient bearings often utilized in turbomachines operating above the first critical speed. The research project includes experimental testing of these components with advanced sensors; furthermore, it involves the development of theoretical or numerical models describing the influence of pivot geometry on the bearing properties.
Teaching experience:
Tutorials of Applied Mechanics for the B.Sc. in Management Engineering (20 hours)
