Deputy Coordinator:
The PhD programme in Industrial Engineering was established by merging four PhD programmes, which are reflected in the programme's curricula. A curriculum in Land Vehicle and Transport Systems Engineering has been added. The curricula play a fundamental role in the organisation of the programme, defining the specific aspects of the training programme, assigning topics and supervisors, determining progression to the next year, etc.
Curriculum coordinators:
- Aerospace Engineering: Prof. Gianpietro Di Rito
- Chemical and Materials Engineering: Prof. Maria Beatrice Coltelli
- Mechanical Engineering: Prof. Ciro Santus
- Nuclear and Industrial Safety Engineering: Prof. Riccardo Ciolini
- Land Vehicle and Transport Systems Engineering: Prof. Marco Gabiccini
Student delegates:
The following PhD student representatives were elected in October 2025:

Calendar/Meetings Mode:
Board Meetings
The Board meetings are held online on the Team Dottorato Ing. Industriale. They are called one week in advance, unless there are particular emergencies.
The following schedule is normally followed:
- end of October-beginning of November for year-end assessments and thesis evaluations;
- January-February for the assignment of supervisors/co-supervisors and approval of training projects; the approval of the monitoring and review form may be included in this meeting.
- April-May: to deliberate on new admissions, accreditation forms, guidelines for admission competitions.
The minutes and PUs are available in a shared Team folder.
Curriculum Committee Meetings
Committee meetings are also held online via Teams and are called a week in advance, unless there are particular emergencies.
The schedule is approximately one week ahead of that of the Board, as it has to carry out preliminary functions:
- in October, doctoral students present their research and training activities carried out during the academic year to the Curriculum Councils. Based on the documentation provided by the students and the presentations, the Curriculum Councils give their opinion on the transition to the next year and propose an assessment for doctoral students.
- in the period January-June, to discuss new affiliations, propose the assignment of supervisors, co-supervisors and co-examiners to new students and thesis assessors, propose final examination committees, monitor the activities of doctoral students, and evaluate the possibility of obtaining externally funded scholarships for the new doctoral cycle.
Quality
The organisational and monitoring aspects of the course are entrusted to the Council and the Review Committee.
