The Aerospace Curriculum of the PhD Course in Industrial Engineering aims at the education of young researchers with high scientific profile in the field of fluid dynamics (DICI Labs | Wind Tunnel, DICI Labs | CFD), flight mechanics (DICI Labs | Flight Mechanics), aerospace structures and materials (DICI Labs | Aerospace Structures and Materials), aerospace propulsion (DICI Labs | Electric Propulsion), aeronautical systems (DICI Labs | Fly-By-Wire) and space systems (DICI Labs | SpaceLab). The research activities, developed in theoretical, computational and experimental settings for each of the fields mentioned above, also find fruitful applications in other areas, such as environmental engineering (supporting activities on land monitoring and Earth observation), biomedical engineering (supporting the development of novel diagnostic/prognostic techniques) or energy engineering (supporting the exploitation of renewable sources, as wind, or more sustainable technologies, as power systems for electrical mobility).

Thanks to its inherent interdisciplinary nature, the Aerospace Curriculum thus enables future PhDs to acquire skills with a high level of specialization as well as capabilities to organize research activities also in different fields of interest for industry and applications, following a transdisciplinary approach.
